Today’s Objective…

You don’t need to be understand the basics behind flying but you’ll need some guidance from a professional to grasp the finer points and nuances to the actual process. Believe it or not, there are a number of parallels between flying and retirement planning and that’s what we plan to tackle on this episode.

Tactical Points:

As we work to build the proper retirement plan, looking at outside of finance is a great way to make comparisons with what we want to accomplish. Take flying for example. If you think about that process from take-off to landing, you’ll find many of the same principles and processes apply to planning.

That’s what we’ll focus on during this episode of Plan with Dan. As an avid flyer and past pilot, Dan Betzel knows all about this idea and has a wealth of knowledge to share on the subject. If you’re not careful, you might just learn quite a bit about planes and flight plans along the way.

We’ll also ask Dan about a recent trend in the wedding industry where couples are taking out loans to fund their ceremony and reception. Is this a good idea?

And finally, we begin the show with a bit of news about the podcast that you’ll need to hear.

The Plan:

[spp-tweet tweet=”I have actually met people that say, I’m retiring in 30 days and I think I better speak to a financial advisor. That’s, to me, like taking off without a flight plan and hoping you get to the right destination. Without a plan in place, the chances of getting there are pretty risky. -Dan Betzel”]
